William J. Leonard
William J. Leonard (Bill) is a seasoned financial executive with 40+ years of experience in finance and operations and 20+ years of corporate and non-profit board experience.
Bill is the former Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Oswald Companies. In this capacity, he oversaw and managed the day-to-day operations of the company including the responsibilities for treasury functions, strategic planning, legal, financial reporting and general corporate results. He also served as a member of the Oswald Board of Directors for 12 years.
Prior to joining Oswald Companies in 1997, Bill served as Chief Financial Officer of a heavy highway construction firm with 100 million in annual revenue. In this capacity, he was responsible for all internal administrative functions including financial, human resources, EEOC, safety, management information, risk management and bonding. Early in his career, Bill held the role of senior manager with Arthur Andersen & Co., servicing clients primarily in the financial services sector.
Currently, Bill serves as an Executive Vice President supporting strategic regional projects and initiatives and as a fractional CFO and Advisor for two startup companies, a role he has held for numerous startups over the past five years.
Bill also serves as President of the Board of Trustees of the Cuyahoga County Public Library (rated as the #1 large public library in the USA for the past 11 years), and as Chair of the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees of St Edward High School. Bill served as interim CFO for the United Way and has been involved in multiple non-profits supporting the community over his professional career.
Bill graduated from The Ohio State University, with honors, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1972. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
